Tansey | EPM26368 | 12KM2

The EPM comprises 12 square kilometres, located 20km north of Goomeri in the Gympie district of eastern Queensland. The surrounding area contains several historic

Known historic workings and mineral occurrences consist of small pits and shafts dug into gold and silver bearing quartz veins or fault zones.

Studies of previous work has shown the EPM is prospective for Gympie-style mineralisation.

In 1970 Uranium Consolidated NL reportedly discovered “significant quantities of gold which was of low grade” Uranium Consolidated never took the project to production. Gold price in 1970 was around $38 an ounce.

South Burnett Gold Mine

  • Discovered in 1919 & Mined from 1934 to 1942 to a depth of 87m.

  • Gold production total 3,152 t ore mined @ 12.9 g/t Au and 11.7 g/t Ag for 1,311 ozs gold and 1,188 ozs silver. Ore crushed onsite with 5 head battery and recovered by amalgamation

  • Mine closed due to WWII labour shortages, poor recoveries and funding

  • Gold is associated with north-northeast trending sub vertical quartz and quartz + calcite veins in sheared graphitic mudstone adjacent to and within andesitic dykes.

  • Highest gold grades reported to occur where graphite was most abundant.

QLD Department of Mines Drilling completed 9 drill holes for a total of 1,220m in 1967-68 significant intersections include:

  • NS11 - 22.7m @ 1.04 g/t Au from 130m;

  • NS12 - 1.3m @ 13.2 g/t Au, 12.4g/t Ag from 141m, and 1.9m @ 9.6 g/t Au, 15.2 g/t Ag from 155m;

  • NS15 - 8.7m @ 1.3 g/t Au, 4.1 g/t Ag from 53m;

  • NS16 - 1.2m @ 25.4 g/t Au, 46 g/t Ag from 115m;

  • NS32 - 9.3m @ 0.15 g/t Au, 27 g/t Ag from 137m.

Assays of core from  previous drill programs  held in the Brisbane Exploration Data Centre were taken to test untested sections as well as verify previous higher grade intercepts.

Best intercepts received were:

NS12 – 1.91m @ 13.65 g/t Au from 155.2m

NS16 – 0.25m @ 102 .5 g/t Au & 191 g/t Ag from 116.2m

NS32 – 1.7m @ 0.65 g/t Au from 143.5m
